MyCookbook ("we", "our", or "the App") is developed by The Restaurant Consultant. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use MyCookbook.

Information We Collect

MyCookbook is designed with privacy in mind. Your recipes, categories, notes, and preferences are stored locally on your device using on-device storage. We do not have access to your recipe data.

• Recipe Data: All recipes, categories, notes, and cookbook data are stored locally on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or have access to this data.
• Camera and Photos: If you use the recipe scanning feature, camera access is used solely to capture images for OCR processing. Photos are not stored on our servers.
• OCR Processing: When you scan a recipe, the image is sent to OpenAI's API for text extraction. The image is processed in real-time and is not stored by us. OpenAI's data usage is governed by their privacy policy.
• Subscription Data: If you subscribe to MyCookbook Pro, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) through RevenueCat. We do not collect or store your payment information.
• Analytics: We do not use third-party analytics or tracking services. We do not collect usage data, device identifiers, or behavioral data.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide recipe scanning via OCR (images sent to OpenAI for processing)
• To manage your subscription status via RevenueCat
• To provide and improve the App's functionality

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. The only external services used are:

• OpenAI: For recipe image OCR processing (images are sent for real-time processing only)
• RevenueCat: For subscription management (handles communication with Apple/Google for payment verification)

Data Storage and Security

All recipe and cookbook data is stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that store your personal recipe data. If you delete the app, your locally stored data will be removed from your device.

Sharing Features

MyCookbook Pro includes recipe and cookbook sharing features. When you share a recipe or export your cookbook, the shared content is generated on your device and transmitted via your device's native sharing capabilities (AirDrop, Messages, Email, etc.). We do not intercept or store shared content.

Children's Privacy

MyCookbook is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
